Veterans of the so-far successful campaign to block to construction of 245 multi-family housing units in the floodplain of the Rivanna River, we subscribe to the view that the fairest long-term solution may be for the City of Charlottesville or another public or non-profit entity to buy the property and dedicate is to nature-preservation

The Circus Grounds Preservation Corporation's purpose is to

raise money to assist a governmental or tax exempt entity in purchasing

the property known as the "Circus Grounds" on the banks of the Rivanna River in Charlottesville, Virginia, and turning it into a recreational area and nature preserve for public use..


The “Circus Grounds” compri

The Circus Grounds Preservation Corporation's purpose is to

raise money to assist a governmental or tax exempt entity in purchasing

the property known as the "Circus Grounds" on the banks of the Rivanna River in Charlottesville, Virginia, and turning it into a recreational area and nature preserve for public use..


The “Circus Grounds” comprise all or a portion of the properties bounded by the Rivanna River, by Free Bridge and Long Street on the northeast, East High Street and Caroline Avenue on the Northwest, and Fairway Avenue and Short 18th Street on the southwest..
